The Company
Our client is a major off-site construction company that specialise in modern construction methods. This pioneering approach gives speed, design flexibility; cost control and does not disturb the client daily business.
The Role
Reporting directly to a Commercial Team Manager, this role is highly demanding so the successful candidate will be capable of working under pressure, whilst still obtaining results. Also this role will involve working with no supervision so you will be expected to work undirected and create your own timetable for completion.
Duties
- Analysing the specification and commercial indications of quotations and tender requests
- Contributing to the interior layout design of the building prior to draughting by Architectural Design
- Ensuring drawings issued meet the client’s design requirements and the company’s proposal
- Obtaining competitive prices from suppliers or sub-contractors, (directly or via the buyer)
- Coordinating the obtaining of prices for non-standard costed items and sub-contract works
- Ensuring materials or work priced for comply with accepted Company standards and Building Regulations
- Communicating with Engineers, Architectural Technicians and Buyers, attending client meetings to discuss particular project requirements
- Compiling estimates based on the design drawings, calculating and applying appropriate costs for the diverse building arrangements incorporating a variety of fixtures, fittings, mechanical and electrical installations and civil engineering requirements
About You:
- The ideal candidate should be able an effective communicator, efficient, accurate and responsive, you will regularly communicating with other team members.
- Have a high standard of numeracy, attention to detail, and a sound analytical approach to work.
Requirements
- Educated to HND Level in a relevant subject area
- Aware contractual requirements
- Previous experience of building practices
- IT skills including Excel, databases, word processing and CAD software and SAP
